Biography
Mazie Hirono, Hawaii's junior senator, was elected in 2012. She is the first female senator from Hawaii, the first Asian-American woman in the Senate, and the first U.S. senator born in Japan. She is known for her progressive views and serves on the Armed Services and Judiciary committees.
