About SenatorDB
SenatorDB is an independent, non-partisan reference database for the members of the United States Senate. Our goal is to make public information about the 100 current senators — and the former senators who preceded them — easy to find, compare, and understand in one place.
What we cover
For every current senator we compile biographical details, committee assignments, contact information, roll-call voting records and party-unity scores, estimated net worth, and stock trades disclosed under the STOCK Act. We also publish aggregate analyses by state, party, age, gender, generation, seniority, and wealth.
Where our data comes from
We assemble our data from public records and reputable open sources:
- Voting records are drawn from official U.S. Senate roll-call vote data published on senate.gov.
- Stock trades come from the Senate Electronic Financial Disclosure (eFD) system at efdsearch.senate.gov.
- Net worth figures are estimates derived from annual financial disclosure filings, which report assets and liabilities in broad ranges rather than exact amounts. Where helpful we cross-reference published estimates from third-party sources; these figures are directional, not precise valuations.
- Biographical and committee data is compiled from official Senate and Congressional sources.
How current is the data?
Voting and stock-trade data is refreshed on an ongoing basis as new records are published; individual pages show the date the underlying data was last current where applicable. Because disclosures are filed on statutory delays (senators have 45 days to report a trade, for example), the most recent activity may not yet appear.
Accuracy & corrections
We work to keep this information accurate, but errors and gaps happen, especially given the volume of records involved. SenatorDB is not affiliated with the U.S. Senate or any government body, campaign, or party. If you spot a mistake or have a question about our methodology, please email [email protected] — we welcome corrections.
